NEL BUIO (Italian for "in the darkness") was born in the autumn of 2023, fueled by the creative vision of Clod the Ripper (worldwide known for his tattoos and musical work with bands like Blasphemer and Septycal Gorge). The band's mission: to weave together the raw intensity of Blackmetal with the haunting nostalgia of 80s Darkwave.

Clod swiftly assembled a formidable lineup, enlisting Neil on guitars (formerly of Electrocution) and Vellacifer on drums (also from Blasphemer and Electrocution).
In a whirlwind of inspiration, they composed a handful of songs within just three days and three nights.

Their meteoric rise caught the attention of the prestigious Avantgarde Music, leading to a record deal.
Their debut self-titled EP saw the light the 21st of June 2024 on LP, CD, tape and digital.

The EP delves into the alienation faced by individuals in our modern society.
With a strong female perspective, it explores the depths of the human psyche.
The visual aesthetic accompanying their music, draws inspiration from the brutalist structures that dominate big cities.
A reinterpretation of Twin Tribes’ song “Monolith” renamed “mi avvelena” forges the perfect link between Black Metal and Dark Wave, embodying the seamless fusion of these two realms at the end of the EP and giving birth to the “pure italian BlackWave”.

The band's official video for "Nel Buio" was crafted by Chariot of Black Moth and premiered worldwide on the Black Metal Promotion YouTube channel.
